Installation
Installation of Ezydeck deck building tiles is both quick and easy. Only minimal preparation is necessary – no adhesives, no special tools and no extra parts are required.
The basic requirement is a solid, level and well drained surface, either indoors or outdoors. Most paved or concrete areas including balconies, patios, verandas, entrances, around pools and other (well drained) wet areas are ideal for laying Ezydeck tiles – even high traffic commercial areas.
step 1
Measure the area to be covered and purchase tiles. (each standard tile covers 1 sq.ft.)
step 2
Start laying the tiles from one corner of the area to be covered. Place the first tile in position and then lock the adjacent tile in place by pushing it down to engage the special connecting tabs on the sides of each tile.
step 3
Continue adding tiles in this manner until the required area is covered and all the tiles are securely locked in place to each adjacent tile. Different patterns or attractive borders can be made by combining different tile designs.
step 4
To fit around pipes, posts or corners, simply cut out the required shape from the tile using a jigsaw or handsaw and lock the tile into place. Any screws in cut out sections should be replaced at appropriate points in the remaining part of the tile to ensure that all slats are securely fastened to the base.
step 5
Bring up a chair, pour a drink, relax and admire your new deck.
Care should be taken if the tiles are being installed (or removed) in exterior situations whilst the temperature is below minus 20ºC (minus 4ºF) as the polypropylene connecting tabs on the base can become increasingly brittle at very low temperatures.
Provided the tiles have been laid on a stable base however, low temperature conditions should not affect the ongoing performance of the tiles under normal circumstances.
